More pictures from our vacation:
Our visit to Freeport, Bahamas was on a glorious day. We were able to go into the port on a nice, if somewhat overcast, morning. The eight of us walked into the port and visited the little shops that were just outside of where the ships dock.

Me by the Menu of Cafe Breeze |
We walked around for a while and then we took a taxi to the main shopping area which was about a 12 mile ride. A hurricane had blown through the town earlier in the year and we saw some evidence of the damage that it caused as we drove around the island.

Port Lucaya Signage to the Various Shops |
We had jewelry shopping on our minds. I like to buy a piece of jewelry when on a cruise as my
souvenir rather than the usual things that tourists might buy. I did find a nice gold filigree ring for my right hand. Walter picked out two stainless steel bracelets for him. We were pleased with the prices and the quality that the jewelry stores had.

Local Man Cutting Up Bait |
After we bought our jewelry, we walked through the shops together. Then the others went to the public beach and we went to the harbor. I liked the wonderful blues, pinks and yellows used everywhere. They gave a delightful Caribbean flavor to the place.

I mentioned that I like the colors of the islands. In the above picture even the picnic tables on the wharf show off beautiful island colors of yellow, pink and green.

Workers Maintain a Boat |
This marina was a working harbor, not a tourist stop. We were able to watch workmen in the process of cleaning, repairing and painting the lovely boats.

A Favorite Picture of the Buildings Lining the Harbor Borders |
The apartments and retail businesses that are close to the harbor are so well maintained. I would like to see how they look inside. I can only guess what it would be like to wake up to view the sunrise over the ocean. It would have to be breath taking!

This Bow Tie Caught Our Eyes! |
During his almost twenty year career as a real estate agent, Walter wore a bow tie as his trademark image. He got many comments about it along the way and many clients came to him because they remembered his advertising while wearing a colorful bow tie. We just had to take a close up of the boat named the Bow Tie. We may not have a boat named after Walter's image, but we have a lot of good memories that his featured accessory have given to us.

Iguana Found in the Courtyard |
No matter where we travel, if Walter finds small wildlife, he gets a picture. This trip was no different. When this iguana came out from under a car, he had his picture snapped.
Our day in Freeport was a fun time. We caught a taxi back to the ship where we met up with the others after their swim. At dinner we all had a lot of fun sharing the adventures of the day with each other. The sights, sounds and smells of Freeport came tumbling out as we told of our individual experiences on the island - in the shops and on the beach.
God is good!
